Which pink is your pink?Pink. That color is associated with women, though some men have wizened up to the flattering properties of pink. The catch is this. Use the wrong shade of pink and you either look all washed out, or garish. The trick is to find the correct shade of pink for your skin tone. First find out whether your skin has warm skin tones or cool skin tones. Warm skin tones means that your skin has a golden undertone. If you have a golden tan or peachy skin, or warm ivory skin, or your skin is a warm shade of brown, you have warm skin tones. Cool skin tones means that your skin has a bluish undertone. If you have olive skin, or your skin is ebony, or white or anything in between with a bluish undertone you have cool skin tones. Wash off all your makeup. Drape a pure white scarf under your chin and look in the mirror. Replace that with an ivory or cream scarf. Which makes you look better. If you look better with pure white, you have cool skin tones. If not, you have warm skin tones. Still not sure? Cool skin tones take pure blues while warm skin tones take well to shades of oranges. Drape a bright blue scarf under your chin and look at yourself in the mirror. Replace that with a bright orange scarf. If blue looks better, drape a pale blue scarf under your chin and compare that with the bright blue scarf. If you look better with the light blue scarf, then you would look best in the softer, paler cool, bluish pinks. If you look better with the bright blue scarf then your pink is fuchsia, and the stronger bluish pinks. The medium cool shades of pink and pure pinks would suit anyone who looks good in blue.
If orange looks better on you, replace that orange scarf with a peach scarf. If you look better with the peach scarf, then go for the lighter peachy pinks. Warm pinks like salmon and anything peach would suit you perfectly. So would the lighter brownish pinks. If you look better with the orange scarf, go for the brighter orangey pinks and the darker peachy pinks and the darker brownish pinks. The medium shades of salmon, medium peachy pinks would suit anyone with warm skin tones.
